So this is my journey switching to using openSUSE 13.1 as my primary distribution. In this series, I'll try to share the highs and lows of tweaking out an openSUSE desktop as well as assessing its various merits along the way.
Part 3 looks at how to keep both the core system and third-party apps up to date, how to backup and restore both your files and your system, and finally taking a quick look at security settings for openSUSE.
