Bandai Namco will release the new anime game, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, for North America some time in early 2018. Based on the popular anime of the same name, this is the first time a game from the series will be available on the Xbox One and the PC, alongside the PlayStation 4.
Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will be a third-person action shooter game with RPG elements. The game will combine gun and sword gameplay mechanics, and will feature a new original story from Sword Art Online creator Reki Kawahara. The story will apparently borrow from the second season of Sword Art Online, and will be set in the digital world of "Gun Gale Online." Based on the names, this is where the whole sword/gun action hybrid comes into play.
#BandaiNamco also announced that this will be the first time a Sword Art Online game will be coming to the Xbox One and Steam, alongside the usual home of anime games, the PS4. So if you're a big fan of anime but only owned an Xbox One X, this is your moment.
Bandai Namco already released a brief teaser trailer showing off gameplay and the two main characters. You can check out the trailer below.
Sword Art Online is a popular Japanese manga/anime franchise where a new VR MMORPG has swept the gaming world. After a malfunction, they all become trapped in the MMO world and have to work together to find a way to log-off. All I know about the series is that is sounds very much like the ".hack" series, but if what I've seen on the internet is any indicator, Sword Art Online is either very good, or very bad according to Twitter.
