3After rearming himself, Gabe leaves Chance in the road tunnel and proceeds down the highway on his own in order to reach the transport crash site located further down the highway, discovering that Archer plans to have the highway bridge leading out of the mountains blown up in order to cut off the escape route for CBDC survivors. To that end, explosives have already been placed on the bridge's structural supports with Archer taking it upon himself to issue detonation order once The Agency fighters return to the area in order to bomb the mountain with Sarin, definitely ensuring death for any CBDC troops still stranded in the area. Intending to prevent that from happening, Gabe proceeds to single-handedly avoid and silently eliminate Agency commandos left on the bridge to safeguard the explosives and disarms them, also discovering that Agency troops patrolling the bridge have captured two CBDC survivors who have also reached the highway. Upon disarming the explosives on the bridge and killing Archer's triggerman, thus ensuring safe escape for other survivors, Gabe proceeds to save two captured CBDC soldiers named Ramirez and Thompson and contacts Theressa from whom he discovers that Lian is alive and safe and that the best route to the crash site will be to follow an nearby rail line. Listening to Theressa's instructions, Gabe proceeds to fight his way out of the tunnel alongside Ramirez and Thompson with three men managing to reach the rail line situated just below the highway, only to end up intercepted by Archer's helicopter which destroys the section of the road below the rails...
