Syphon Filter 2 Walkthrough Part 1: Colorado Mountains (INTRO & FIRST MISSION)
2Welcome back to the channel, dear gamers. As promised, with BioShock series concluded, i will return to another gaming trilogy that i've started but never concluded until now. On haitus since 2021, Syphon Filter series will finally be continued with a PS1 cult classic, Syphon Filter 2 so sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.
About Game: Syphon Filter 2 is 2000 Third-Person Shooter video game developed by Eidetic and published by 989 Studios as PlayStation exclusive. It is a second mainline game of Syphon Filter series and a direct sequel to 1999's Syphon Filter. Upon release, Syphon Filter 2 was met with generally positive reviews on account of its gameplay and graphics, which were noted to be nearly identical to its predecessor and a well-executed story, although some reviewers considered it to be too convoluted. On the other hand, voice acting in the game was universally panned and stealth sections were also criticized as overly strict. Despite this, Syphon Filter 2 entered gaming history as one of the last major exclusives released for PlayStation and is generally praised in retrospective reviews. Sequel and final game of the original Syphon Filter trilogy, Syphon Filter 3 was released in 2001.
Story of the game takes place immediately after the events of the first game and follows Gabriel "Gabe" Logan and Lian Xing, operatives of an American black ops group known as The Agency, as they go rogue after discovering Agency's involvement in an terrorist conspiracy involving a dangerous bio-weapon known as Syphon Filter. Despite the Agency and its highly-trained agents pursuing them both, Gabe and Lian, assisted by another rogue Agency operative named Teressa Lipan, start to work on exposing The Agency's existence while also looking for a way to cure Lian of Syphon Filter infection.
Immediately after Rohmer's death and collapse of his terrorist organization, Gabe and CBDC troops start securing PharCom warehouses in Almaty, Kazakhstan with Gabe and CBDC lieutenant named Chance discovering several discs containing sensitive data pertaining to both PharCom's research and the company's CEO, Johnathan Phagan, who was murdered by Mara Aramov after becoming a test subject of his own company. However, as Gabe, Lian and their troops await an transport meant to take them out of Kazakhstan and onto an airfield in Arizona managed by Teressa, Agency troops arrive to the warehouses, intent on eliminating Gabe and capturing infected Lian for experimentation, being under time pressure as Russian troops are en route to the warehouses. While Agency is able to capture Lian, Gabe manages to fight his way to the warehouses' airfield just in time to see Agency helicopter taking off with Lian as Russians arrive. With the commander of the Russian troops named Gregorov, who is a personal friend of Lian, agreeing to deny ever seeing Gabe in the warehouses, him and the rest of CBDC troops immediately board their transport plane and head for the United States. However, as they fly over the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, CBDC's transport plane is intercepted and shot down by a pair of Agency's fighter jets. Scrambling to save as many of his agents as possible, Gabe orders everyone to jump out of the plane, leaving the data discs from Kazakhstan onboard. Upon landing in the snow-covered, harsh Rocky Mountains, Gabe discovers that his men ended up scattered all over the mountain, forcing him to search for them as they all find themselves in an desperate fight for survival against Agency's commandos airdropped to their current location. Despite the odds stacked against them and multiple casualties suffered by Gabe's team, Gabe manages to find Chance and several other CBDC survivors, proceeding to lead them off the mountain. However, as they reach the passage to the local highway, Gabe is intercepted by his former Agency collegue named Archer who pilots a combat helicopter, using its armaments to force Gabe to jump for his life...
