A video showing the gameplay of Tactical Combat Department, ending with a short review. Tactical Combat Department is a newly released turn-based squad tactics game on Steam, that challenges you to calmly approach hostage situations by ordering squad to cover one another. You will see my first impressions of the game, having never played it before.

Tactical Combat Department is similar in gameplay feel to the XCOM series, using action points to limit your squads' abilities per team. Approach the slowly, make sure your troops are watching every angle and covering each others' backs. Once you breach the target it's up to you how you handle the conflict; shoot to kill or try to subdue the terrorists alive? Watch out though, levels are filled with innocent civilians who cannot get caught in the crossfire but nevertheless must be safely detained and removed from the firefight.

Flank your enemies, make use of windows and the like to attack from an unexpected angle. Bounce flashbangs off wall and disorient you enemies before they even see you coming. Utilise a wide range of different weapons, armours and equipment items to take advantage of the circumstances of each specific mission.
