Tales of Zestiria {Hard Mode} First Time - Random Battles 1
*Random Battles inside the Vivia Waterway Ruins. I play as Lailah*
In terms of storyline a lot of exposition happened between this video and the last. We met another Seraph named Lailah, Soleil became the next legendary priest, Lady Lake was engulfed in darkness, we learned that we must purify the Calamity, Lailah and Soleil fused into some Power Ranger looking dude and Mikleo threw a hissy fit for feeling useless.
So Tales of Zestiria's Fusionic Chain Linear Motion Battle System is basically an upgraded version of Tales of Graces F's Style Shift System with Xillia 2's Corpse Shell mechanics. The unique thing about these battles are their real time terrain transitions which is both a really cool yet annoying feature of the game.
For starters, fighting battles in long narrow hallways limits your combat maneuverability and worse yet the battle camera loves to extreme close up during the action if both you and your target gets close to each other....which I find it happening too often when you're fighting in dungeons. However, that's probably my only gripe about the battles as the rest of the fighting is super fun.
Right now, Soleil is lacking in the variety department with his attacks (at least for now) so that's why I'm using Lailah as she completely owns this dungeon as most of the enemies are weak to fire so battles end very quickly. Just like Destiny Remake and Graces F, spell casting time reduces whenever you use spells during Chain Combos so make sure to effectively use this to your advantage when playing with magic. I do show off a little bit of Soleil's Kamui with Lailah which is....wow. You feel so OP during this mode. Overall, there isnt a lot of action going on right now, but battles will get more intense later.
