Talking the Vile to death | FEAR & HUNGER | #fearandhunger #fearandhungerlore
Segment from my video Another 20 Nasty Things in Fear and Hunger
The Pig Masked Vile is one of the tougher enemies the player will encounter early on. Entering the slums the vile will be found spraying pesticide on some fish. In combat, he poses a decent challenge and can be a serious threat to players early on.
But there is a one special way of dealing with this porcine threat and that’s by talking him into poisoning himself.
If you initiate the talk skill in combat, you will get a chance to say “What was that” to which the Vile will try to reply, but will only mumble through the mask. The player can then repeat the same question again “What was that”. The vile will again try to reply, but his words will be muffled by the mask and you won’t be able to make any sense of anything the Vile says.
If the player asks “What was that” a third time, a coin flip will initiate, if you are successful, the vile will lose his cool trying to reply to you, and you not understanding. So he furiously lifts up his mask so that you can understand what he is saying, in doing this, he exposes himself to the leaking pesticide from the tank that he is carrying and poisons himself to death has he starts to cough up blood, ending the encounter
