In this update I've added shields to the game, they work similar to the energy shields in Halo, Borderlands, etc, and act as the first line of defense from damage. A meter for the shield's power can be seen in the lower left.

I've added damage effects to display when you're taking damage and there's separate displays for when your shield is active or you're taking direct damage.

Splash damage has been added and targeting has been changed. There's a bit more skill and effort to the game now in the fact that you have to target enemies more specifically, as projectiles will now contact the ground where you click. Doing this allowed for splash damage, as a projectile hits it will create a small AoE, which allows smaller targets to be dealt with more easily.

I've also reworked how many effects are displayed. For example, projectiles used to originally exclude themselves from further calculations when they contacted a solid body, and then they would play a contact animation. Instead, the animation is part of the same effects system which creates the tank tread marks, the corpses and debris from defeating enemies, trails on missiles, etc.
