After the battle you are tasked with scouting ahead into the mountains. Near a volcano you come across a few threats.

First are the Virii Pods. They are very sensitive to movement. Agitate them enough and they will burst, spawning small creatures that will chase after you. You can choose to slowly creep past and ignore them or blast them to oblivion.

Later on Commander Turxz informs you of a strange reading. The source is a massive Megaron Tank. You have to hunt it down and destroy it.

The Megaron Tank has 3 heavy guns that can fire in rapid succession. It can also teleport so close quarters combat isn't likely to happen. Additionally you can't stay in one place for too long as there is also a bomber flying overhead, forcing you to stay on the move.
