[TAS] Doom: Alien Vendetta - NM-Speed in 1:43:55 by Red-XIII
This is a segmented speedrun where Red-XIII (aka. Gianluca) quickly beats Alien Vendetta on Nightmare difficulty.
Disclaimer: I'm NOT the author of this movie! I just recorded it.
Quick comments:
Map01,02,03:
An ok beginning. Nothing special about these, just health management.
Map04:
This one could have been a lot faster, but I preferred playing safe.
Map05:
Easy level, could have been faster.
Map06:
I like this level, was fun to do.
Map07:
Fun map. I'm not confortable with that strafe50 jump, so I used rocket boost.
Map08:
I like this one, though that switch drove me crazy.
Map09:
Probably it wasn't necessary to take blue armor, but at least it was safe.
Map10:
Rocket jumping saves just a few seconds, but I had to do it since it's quite cool.
I'm not confortable with the other way of that jump ("monster boost"), also harder in NM. Overall, nice
and tough map.
Map11:
I like this level a lot. Health management and rocket jumping, relatively easy.
Map12:
Another cool and relatively hard map.
Map13:
Pretty hard map, took a lot of planning. The final rush with green sphere was pretty awesome though.
Map14:
By far the hardest map of the wad. This isn't suitable for uv speed, let alone nm. Lot of patience and re-load.
Map15:
Not that hard, low health wasn't a problem fortunately.
Map 16:
This turned out to be easier than I thought. With health balancing and BFG abuse, remnant room was relatively easy.
Map 17:
Pretty easy with all weapons and ammos.
Map18:
Hard in some places, easier in others.
Map19:
Not too bad, I find the first part harder than the last.
Map20:
Best level of the wad, always fun playing it!
Map21:
Easy but weird map. Monsters behaviour was strange.
Map22:
I thought this was easier, but I had some trouble after red door.
Map23:
God bless the arc vile jump.
Map24:
Non linear and open level. Many routes here, but I decided to play aggressive and go for the fastest one.
Map25:
Best thing you'll see in this run. Very easy level and one of my favourite.
Map26:
Getting the green sphere wasn't straightforward, but after that it was pretty trivial.
Map27:
Medium level, though the first part is relatively easy. The arc jump to avoid pain elemental is really handy here.
Map28:
Really hard map, but less frustating than map14. It took a bit of route planning though.
Map29:
Harder than I expected. The arc vile jump is too dangerous here, so I preferred the normal route.
Map30:
The end, at last.
