2Sure, I wanted to play Team Fortress 2 Classic before, but now the deathmatch mode was removed from that. Now this is my favorite TF2 mod.
This mod was originally open-source, however it is now closed-source at Valve's request. Now it can't stay true to its name, unfortunately. At least it's an open alpha now! Get it?
But yeah, the main mode of this is a Quake-style deathmatch, which plays normal: grab weapons around the map and use them to kill enemies and earn frags, and grab powerups to enhance yourself for a limited time. Medals can also be earned, as in Quake deathmatch games since Quake III. The game's main class is the Mercenary, although the Civilian class and the standard 9 also make an appearance. The game also comes with mutators which can change up the gameplay a bit. There's also a few objective-based modes focused with the Mercenary class (hence the "m" at the start of the maps' prefix). Sure, since the game mounts TF2 content, you can play maps from base TF2 here, but I still wouldn't advise doing so.
