In this video, Alex Ginsberg explains how operating systems implement processor scheduling to effectively allocate resources to apps that need them. The talk beings with an introduction to what an operating system is and the idea of the Thread Abstraction. Alex then moves on to discuss some simple scheduling algorithms, which he later uses to explain the multi-level feedback queue, a complex scheduling algorithm used by modern-day operating systems.
