9The initial menu allows the choice of the team to be used among eight different teams, and the difference between the two ports lies precisely in the selectable teams: in the original Tecmo World Cup '90 version the choice is between national, while in the Euro League bootleg the choice is between European clubs; note that many of the national uniforms are incorrect, but the players of the various teams have different complexions or hair colors, while the clubs are faithful to the true social colors.
It is played with two buttons, the first that allows you to kick low and the second to kick high; kicking the ball not only takes the shot on goal but also the pass, as a teammate near the point where the ball lands is automatically pounced on the ball.
You can perform low and high shots, overhead and head dips (these when you receive a pass with the high shot), elevation headers (when you are off the ball and press the high shot button) and slides (when you are without the ball and press the low shot button; it is the only way to steal the ball from the opponent as long as he controls it). When the opposing team arrives near the player's area, the latter controls his goalkeeper in a totally manual way.
