Hello everyone! I hope you're doing well! Welcome to my review of Telling Lies.

Telling Lies is an interactive movie/desktop thriller game from Sam Barlow, Furious Bee, and Annapurna Interactive. It was released in August of 2019 and stars Logan Marshall-Green, Kerry Bishe, Alexandra Shipp, and Angela Sarafyan. This game has a very interesting premise in which the entire story is told through one-sided Skype-Esque clips, and you're trying to uncover some kind of mystery and clues through watching them. You take whatever information you can get, and try to find keywords to then enter into the database, and hope that through that, you will find more clips that will continue to lead you in the right direction of what you're trying to figure out. Watching the clips over and over and over can definitely get a little tiring after a while, but fortunately, there is a fast-forward option. Also, the acting is really well-done, so it's interesting enough to just see their performances regardless of where the story is going. However, a good story is always extremely important of course, so it's definitely a bit disappointing that there wasn't more intrigue from that aspect of this game. I really do think that this will be a "like it or hate it" type of experience. Maybe someone will love it out there, but I would be surprised by that. I just really think at it's best, you might get invested enough to want to see the game through, but at worst it could be a painful thing to get through and that's obviously never what you want.
