9Hello and welcome to my review of Maid of Sker!
Am I pronouncing Sker right??
Maid of Sker is a first-person horror/stealth game from Wales Interactive and was released in July of this year. This game had been on my radar ever since it came out, but the summer didn't seem like the right time to play it, so I waited till now and I'm so glad that I did! This is seriously a scary game. More-so in the atmosphere than anything else, but that's what's so great about it. Being in this old and decrepit hotel with these strange "Quiet Ones" is super creepy, and that lingering feeling of danger is always there. I love haunted house movies, and this has that same feeling but of course, in a hotel. And that's such a great setting for a horror game because there's so much to explore and so many different areas to get killed in! And then to add on the dynamic of not being able to make any sound. That makes everything just incredibly tense. I really think this game will surprise a lot of people. I'm happy to see it has a lot of good reviews too! If you've played the game, what did you think about it? Along with The Haunting of Bly Manor this weekend, this is a great weekend for horror!
