Temperatures to plummet 'for a while' as cold front moves in
Much of Australia was blessed with sunny. warm weather for the Easter weekend. but that's all about to change for some parts of the country. Australia's southeast. including Adelaide. Hobart. Melbourne and Canberra enjoyed some of the warmest weather seen this late in Autumn for years. In Adelaide and Melbourne. temperatures have risen above 25C for the past three days. However. as the long weekend comes to an end. so will the unseasonably warm weather. A cold front and low pressure system will bring some rainfall to parts of southern Australia this week. Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) meteorologist Dean Narramore has warned. BoM has even teased Victorians about the change in weather on Twitter. 'We hope you made the most of the lovely weather that we've just had. as that's it for a while!' the Bureau of Meteorology. Victoria. posted on Sunday. 'A cold front will bring rain over the next two days and drop max temperatures by up to 10 degrees from today's highs.' Melbourne temperatures plummet as rain falls The Bureau issued a road weather warning for all of Melbourne on Monday. saying slippery roads and reduced visibility due to the rain could make for dangerous driving conditions. The State Emergency Service has advised people to reduce their speed while on the road. maintain a larger distance from the vehicle in front and turn on their headlights. BoM forecasts the temperature in Melbourne will dip below 20C and stay that way for the rest of the week. with Tuesday and Thursday expected to be the chilliest. with a top of 17C.
