TES Morrowind Episode 4: The most difficult quest ever.
I had to walk so far for that Ceramic Bowl.
And then return it. It's impossible!
Actually, it's LITERALLY a filler quest, because the game needed to load in the two scrolls you had to find afterwards. Way to overcome the engine.
And even though those scrolls are the REAL quest, I STILL have to turn in that bowl.
Anyway, we advance left and right in guilds, join a few more and learn some things about alchemy by cheating on that upcoming potion test.
I also gain my first point of reputation! In Oblivion, there's fame and infamy, which counteract eachother. Here, there's two kinds of reputation. General is the number you see. More is better as it makes people generally like you and give you better prices.
Faction reputation is different and limited to factions, and acts as a bonus on your natural reputation. Fighter Guild doesn't affect the Mages, so to speak. Thise reputation CAN be lowered by fudging up the works.
Overall, lots of reputation is good. The main quest alone earns 42, though with a 173 grand total, that's quite skimpy.
That being said, it is the SINGLE LARGEST source of rep, as most others offer between 12-22 rep in total.
Now, a little bit about the skills and attributes needed for advancements.
First, don't worry about attributes. At the highest level, 35 for both is enough.
Your skills, however, are going to get in the way.
Your primairy goes up by 10 each rank, meaning you need a skill at level 90 to get the max rank.
THere are two SECONDARY. These go up 5 each rank and start at rank 3 at 5. This means that at max, you need 2 skills at 35.
As you can see, the primary skill needs to be selected carefully and trained as strongly as possible. If you want a quick run through all factions, get major skills that overlap between them and use them often.
In between video and the next, I buy and grind some magic levels, so don't be surprised when I'm a few days further with more levels. Still not enough for the next rank in the Mages Guild, but that'll come in due time.
