Spelunky Episode 9: The Lucky Key.
0Reaching what I think is the final area, and getting a Key so full of luck it helps me survive for ages.
That key is great. It was the best key ever. May it be written in the stones that the golden lucky key is forever lost. And that he never got to unlock his chest.
In case I wasn't too clear, this is how the game basically messes with you:
Area 1: Mix, to prepare you.
Area 2: Really annoying enemies.
Area 3: The environment, mostly. And enemies that gladly abuse it's build.
Area 4: Traps. Arrow, crushers, and devious foes it's a full-house of fun.
Attempt #41:
Cause of Death: Arrow Trap Juggle.
Time of Death: 11:38
Score: 19.750 (technically more, but I spent most on shortcut dude)
A great and most magnificent run. Cape and Machette with some spiked boots is all you need to get through most of the game it seems. But instead of getting the luxury of being killed by some new trap or landing in lava, I get fiendishly juggled by arrow traps.
Attempt #42:
Cause of Death: Arrow Trap Double Kill
Time of Death: 15:22
Score: 18.800
Seems they really don't like me, do they? Kill me once, shame on me, kill me twice, you're wasting ammo.
Attempt #43:
Cause of Death: Spikes.
Time of Death: 18:03
Score: 22.100
And I checked. The arrow at 16:07 goes straight through my head.
As for my death, I should have used BOMBS. Or walked through them. Yea...
Attempt #44:
Cause of Death: Arrow Trap.
Time of Death: 20:25
Score: 18.700
And my corpse will forever decorate that ladder. Arrow traps REALLY hate me this episode!
Attempt #45:
Cause of Death: Face-Frog.
Time of Death: 25:45
Score: 43.375
It seems even the Almost Luckiest Key cannot stop the power of a belly-flopping frog.
