Fine tuning image quality settings and general thoughts.
Because of different monitor configurations, the colour correction settings that are used are purely subjective and may not look correct on your monitor.

SpikeOut is a good title to do encoding tests on. Due to the low resolution of the textures, there are areas that will cause problems if the hardware doing the encoding is not strong enough or if the settings are incorrect for the specified bitrate. Encoding at 60fps is quite demanding, and it can be quite expensive to buy the equipment to record gameplay footage.

Two areas in particular are the Shipyard and the Opera theater. The brown texture on the side of the ship just before Kitty and Lisa and the red carpet in the Opera Theater can become very blocky and pixelated.

Also in the demo sequence, when pausing the video during fast motion movements the 3D graphics can become blurry and less defined.

I've tried various ways to upload decent quality 720p and 1080p video to Youtube, but when I upload 4k video, the quality seems to be better with lower resolution Youtube transcoding rather than uploading at that particular resolution. This is a strange phenomenon.

The limit of my CPU can only encode 4K/60 when the CPU usage setting is set to very fast. There may be some setting in OBS that allows for better quality encoding, but I don't know what it is at the moment; I'm sure as the IPC of the CPU improves, it will do better. It's nice to be able to try encoding in 4K, but after a lot of testing, I think 720p/60 -1440p/60 is good enough for archiving.
