Testing: Mouse vs. Touchpad vs. Trackpoint - Lenovo Thinkpad Laptop
Two tests of each have been done. Normally my mouse skill is very good, especially when concentrating, but for this test, I try to be as casual as I can be. The test result is expected. Mouse is the king. Trackpad is okay for content consumption, but not really for real computing tasks. Despite the low score of the trackpoint, I generally prefer trackpoint over trackpad because the trackpad is in the way of me typing on a laptop.
PS. I don't like touch screen laptop at all.
What do I think about the trackpoint?
More premium laptop has this thing, and I don't mind of it, but rarely use it. It's good to have option. Removing it from existing line of laptop is a mistake. Trackpoint is what I use when I need to scroll through a very large PDF file. It's far better than a trackpad, so it really has its use.
