Unrooted: Disable Samsung automatic download Android recommended apps Android 14
When setting up a new Samsung phone, you will be forced to install various useless recommended apps from Samsung. There are few options to opt out, and there are mandatory app installs during the setup. Overtime, you will also get automatic free small apps randomly from Samsung with love from the back door, and these apps appear randomly because they are being installed secretly without your consent.
In this video I will show you how to disable this intrusive feature. Rooting the phone is the only way to take ownership of your android device, but for this guide, root is not required. Rooting a modern android for a rookie can do more harm to it than usefulness, so only root your android phone if you are a hacker, which for a majority of people, you are dummy, not a hacker, so don't root your phone.
Even though this video is for a Samsung android phone, any other phone works similarly, and I would say for a majority of android phones, you are getting this bloatware by default. The first thing is to identify the name of the system app that installs these apps. Yes, it takes an app to install another app, so by disabling or crippling that app, you are disabling its ability to install new apps. For most of these apps, the disable button is disabled, but you can still disable the app by blocking it from accessing the internet using a VPN firewall. Without the internet, this virus-like app will lose its ability to install new apps. It's as simple as that.
For this Samsung phone, the name of the app is called "Recommended Apps"; By crippling it, no more new apps from Samsung. You may need to do this again for a new update. System updates sometimes would re-enable these apps.
