Testing raincoats for NBC/CBRN use
Testing raincoats for NBC/CBRN use by seeing if constant running water is able to penetrate the material of the raincoats.
NBC/CBRN suits work by being made of a material that water or chemicals is not able to penetrate thus protecting the wearer from chemical vapours and liquids, however not all raincoats will actually protect from water if it constantly is coming into contact with the material.
In this video I tested:
Flecktarn goretex coat
Woodland DPM goretex coat
Portwest raincoat.
Goretex may not actually be suitable for NBC use as it's breathable, even if a liquid cannot pass it, some vapours may.
