Hello everyone, thanks for tuning in. So in this episode we'll be reviewing and testing Thymesia- a newly released Souls-like action RPG developed by OverBorder Studio and Published by the Team17. So first things first, the game was released for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series S and X on August 18th.
Thymesia enters the already extremely crowded and challenging RPG scene. And naturally we are forced to compare it with triple A giants like Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Demon Souls and Sekiro.
But as it often happens, smaller Indie studios understands both what makes a series great, and how to improve that formula to make something new and rather refreshing.
Thymesia really shines with it's fast paced combat, that has a really nice flow, once you get the hang of it. The different defensive and aggressive combat animations blend almost seamlessly into one another creating an extremely satisfying and fluid gameplay.
The excellent sound design further compliments the whole experience, optimization is also really good, and on the PS5 i haven't experienced any hiccups or FPS drops.
