The Team Fortress 2 Competitive Matchmaking is now in some sort of semi-closed beta and I've played quite a lot of hours of it. While I LOVE the core idea of it, there are some serious gripes which are affecting it: mainly, it doesn't matchmake very well...

In all my frustration in this video I also failed to mention: abandonment. Probably about 50% of matches you get into are abandoned by someone which completely null and voids the match. This is often right at the start of the match so is no big deal - just a minor annoyance. But this can often happen right at the end of a match - just before you win. Therefore giving you no rank and no fun. Valve need to seriously rethink the penalties abandoners face whilst at the same time balancing what happens to the rest of the people in the server.
