This Starsector run has been enjoyable to play because of the self imposed fleet size limit. And while that limit is still in place, now that I'm level 20 I can officially roll out our Super Capital Rosenritter ship. Of course, first we have to survive the trip home to get there. And it turns out the Pirates have some serious surprises up their sleeve.

Starsector is a very moddable game, and if you are familiar with the game there are always mods available to take your game further.
