Today was quite a mess, lot of cutscenes... These cutscenes will gradually be reduced though, because there are going to be a lot more boss fights. I went to the Opera House to participate in the Opera with Celes. Good scene, could have been done a little better in terms of how the lyrics match up with the "voice", but still good. After this, things started getting messy... Things were going pretty good, I was on my way to stop Ultros from dropping a 4 ton weight on the act. I plowed through all of the rats, surprisingly getting very lucky. Sabin and Cyan would always target the yellow rat (the one that summons green rats if it's the last one on screen). I did not acknowledge the time limit at all for some reason, and entered a fight with 29 seconds left. I figured, oh well, I can take care of this easily. I did an aurabolt, it hit a green rat. Dispatch hit the other green rat. At this point, it was literally impossible to finish the fight. I may have been able to, but I had incisor used one me when there were about 7 seconds left, which took time up. No big deal, I didn't lose any levels. I gained more from fighting the rats again, and spells were not lost either. I got revenge on Ultros big time by killing him in 3 turns. Sabin had an incredible critical hit in there doing over 1300 damage with a single claw. Once I met up with Setzer and went to Vector, I fought outside for awhile. I wanted to try and snag a green beret from a Joker, but I only found one Joker and I got a tonic from it. Eh, the head band is alright for Cyan anyway. I went to the Magitek Factory, once Sabin hit level 15, fire dance really helped get rid of the enemies. I absolutely LOVE this place. It's fun, has great music, and good boss battles. Also, you got like half of the magicite in the game here. I grabbed every single treasure I could find, I don't think I missed one. I got my level's up to 16, with Sabin still being at 15. This is a good level to be at, not game breakingly high, and not low. When I got to Ifrit and Shiva, I began to have some issues. I went after Ifrit with all I could, and Shiva appeared shortly. She cast ice 2 on my party several times in a row, which I did not expect. Everyone died, so I tried again. This time I did not fight Ifrit at all, I only used runic with Celes so I could just get to Shiva and spam fire spells on her (I had tried before, but she killed Sabin immediately). The result of this, Ifrit only used blaze. He targetted the whole party with it almost every turn. The last standing was Celes, down to 4 HP. I went for a desperation attack, and she did it. But spin edge didn't kill Ifrit, and he finished me off with a fire 3 (yes, he can use this). It was the worst loss I've ever had in this game. So third time around, I just go all out on Ifrit. I win fortunately, almost losing Sabin. So I save my game, and there you have it. Day 7 completed, week one completed.
