Allometric Regression Models for Parkia biglobosa in the Guinea Savanna of Ghana
Layman Abstract :
Parkia biglobosa, a valuable tree in Northern Ghana, is widely used by local communities for food, medicine, and other purposes. However, due to high demand and lack of protection, this tree is becoming endangered. To help manage it better, this study looked at the physical measurements (like tree height and crown size) of Parkia biglobosa and created simple models to predict these features. Researchers studied 10 trees in the Tolon district and found that the size of the tree trunk was closely linked to other tree features like height and crown width. The study also found useful relationships that can help in monitoring and managing these trees. Although the study gives important insights, more research with a larger number of trees is needed to make the results more widely applicable.
