In this series we take on the challenges The Ascent has to offer and explore the gameplay, from the beginning and through to the end. In the 8th part of this adventure:
I did everything Poone asked me to do. A fraction of the power is now his but… spoiler alert, it’s not gonna last long. So much work for nothing. What can you do though, right?
Things started going south pretty damn fast. In front of me a giant robotic spider shows up. Friendly spider? Of course not! Oh and did I mention he has a flamethrower in its mouth?
What’s worse than a flamethrower carrying robot spider? 3… 3 more flamethrower carrying robot spiders. That’s the moment my character kinda gave up.
But have no fear! Out of nowhere rockets start flying and down go 2 of the spiders. A new character shows up and literally punches the third one in the face. Her name is Kira and she basically informs me that I’m an inferior being and that now I belong to her basically. Death by spiders might have been better.
There’s still hope. I managed to find a new best friend. His name is Javelin Dash and it’s the most beautiful thing I could ask for. I might be a slave for life but look at my dash. Woosh!!!
I’m now in a meeting with Kira. She basically tells me that she kindly gives me the chance to prove myself. If I do it, she will see me in “a less useless waste of space” light. And with that, I might even get some corporate benefits like health insurance! One day I might even be a free man!
Have you ever done something and after the situation ends you’re like: “Did I make the right choice?” Well here I am, delivering a father’s legacy to his daughter only for her to ask me if I want cash or to keep said memento. What is the right choice? I don’t wanna take what little money she has but I don’t want to take the memento either.
Well… torturing myself with this is pointless now… ‘cause I chose the gun… I’m sorry XD.
