Let's take a trip down memory lane! The Atari Jaguar was one of the most interesting consoles of its time.

The Atari Jaguar is a home video game console developed by Atari Corporation and released in North America in November 1993. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it competed with the 16-bit Sega Genesis, the Super NES and the 32-bit 3DO Interactive Multiplayer that launched the same year. Powered by two custom 32-bit processors – Tom and Jerry – in addition to a Motorola 68000, Atari marketed it as the world's first 64-bit game system, emphasizing its 64-bit bus used by the blitter. The Jaguar launched with Cybermorph as the pack-in game, which received divisive reviews. The system's library ultimately comprised only 50 licensed games.
Development of the Atari Jaguar started in the early 1990s by Flare Technology, which focused on the system after cancellation of the Atari Panther console. The Jaguar was an important system for Atari after the company shifted its focus from computers - having ceased development of its Atari ST - back to consoles. However, the multi-chip architecture, hardware bugs, and poor tools made writing games for the Jaguar difficult. Underwhelming sales further eroded the console's third-party support.
This video is for the geek in us all however it is not for the sissies at Atari Age or Reboot. Those folks are excuse making crybabies. They cannot take honest opinions, or criticisms, and would like you to play Atari ST forever. They cannot get enough of that crappy 16-bit PC that no one liked in the first place. Wah wah get mad, if you are reading this and do not know what I am referring to, go to AtariAge website, go to forums, pick any thread, especially where someone asks a question. Read, and watch them go insane with each other. Can someone make a new Jaguar Community please?
No matter how hard they try, the true lovers of Atari Jaguar know our silly little machine is way better than that. We are hungry for good games, games that actually exceed SNES, and Sega Genesis. We want something on the level of 3DO and PS1. The system is more than capable of it. Think I am telling lies? Then watch the entire video!
But there is hope, we now have full emulation capabilities, new development tools, and hopefully new blood in the community!
