Play-through with the titular character in "Captain Commando" from "Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle" on PS4. "Cap Com" does have a flame-thrower attack as his dashing jump attack, but it's slightly tricky to use, and maybe balanced out by making the rest of his game kind of middle-of-the-road.
From watching a play-through by an actual good player before this, I discovered that you can do double-tap dash attacks not only laterally, but also up and down--and at least some bosses aren't too adept at dodging/countering those knock-down attacks coming in vertically like that. I'm not very good at using the dash attack like that yet, but I did happen to take out two of the bosses with a vertical dashing attack: 10:43 & 14:33 .
Tried it against the final boss but it went incredibly poorly. : P
