Up to this point, if a play-through didn't get to at least the finals (match / stage 6, the one before the boss fight), I discarded the recording, abandoned that semi-random team, and tried again with another one.

But thinking about it just recently, it occurred to me that I didn't have to delete them; I could just relegate them to their own playlist of shame--and anyway, seeing me screw up might be more interesting to people than seeing me "succeed." And they say we should learn from our mistakes... (Also, this may be the only way you see much gameplay from me using certain characters I struggle with.)

So this is the first attempt I made at getting a recording of gameplay using the "Cool Choi" maniac striker (fished it out of the Recycle Bin : P); Ryo, Maxima, and Shingo were the team members chosen by my team building script ( http://smbhax.com/cgi-bin/teams/2k.pl ), and I had fairly high hopes of success (ie reaching at least match number 6, the "finals"), since I tend to regard those three as fairly strong characters.

Well, it didn't pan out so great. I'm not super-great with shotos; I can get confused if I try thinking about their special moves too much, and their regular attacks are sometimes rather bland--and Ryo is *so* shoto. My Maxima is definitely a one-trick pony if I focus on special attacks, and for some reason I did that here. And Shingo, a semi-shoto type, gets me *very* confused if I think about his special moves too much. So, against a solid CPU team midway through the run, I got myself into some trouble. It was close!

... There will no doubt be many more of these. :P
