The Fighter vocation is one of the BEST starter vocations in the entire game. Although it's one of the base vocations you can start with, it's probably one of the best to start with as well because it's great for getting used to the game, its controls, as well as some of the basics of the melee combat in Dragon's Dogma 2. I totally recommend starting with the Fighter, especially if you're coming from Souls games or you're a fan of things like Soulslikes. It might be a basic vocation, but it's a really good basic vocation!
