The best thing Grand Auto did for the series was get rid of the restricted map.

In previous games, if you left the starting area, you instantly got a 6-star wanted level and were promptly killed.

While this was a fun way to try and escape the military, it defeats the purpose of GTA.

While it makes sense to restrict the play area in, say, an RPG

GTA doesn’t have any reason to limit where you can drive other than story reasons, which is pretty weak reasoning.

Gta 5 solidified this franchise as the best of all time but i still think the channel.
