Not for the faint of heart, this game. I was first told about it by the bassist in my band. He was always a huge fan of indie games and Steam releases. Vinay, if you're reading this?................you suck. Anyway, The Binding of Isaac is a top-down 2D dungeon grinder similar to the Zelda franchise, but the religious themes of the game are surrounded by controversy. The backstory is similar to that of Abraham and Isaac from the Bible, except in the game, Isaac's mom is brainwashed by religious fanatics on TV, then hears a voice tell her to basically take away her son's freedom and eventually kill him.............Yeah.........It's pretty dark, dude. He ends up running into the basement and fighting off monsters or some such. I don't really know what happens because I honestly never played the game. However, I stumbled across this gem of a musical composition, which is hauntingly beautiful by the way, and wanted to cover the tune myself. From my research, the song is on the soundtrack for an expansion of the game called, "The Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb". Fair warning. This is one of the darkest clip movies I've done thus far, simply because the game has an ominous stigma to it. You know that feeling you get when you're at home late watching a scary movie and even though you're an adult you still feel the need to either turn on all the lights or be REALLY aware of your surroundings if you need to pause the movie and go to the bathroom? Yeah, that feeling. I felt that the entire time I was tracking this song and through the mixing/editing process. Weird. Probably because I listened to it a gajillion times and it's ingrained in my brain now.

Ok, on to the actual credit of the song. As always, I did not write the music to this theme. It was composed by Danny Baranowsky who, from what I can tell is an independent contractor, but has a company named dB Soundworks. He composed the music, not I. I am simply paying homage to his musical genius in my own weird way. This "DERIVATIVE WORK" (look it up) is also covered under the current copyright laws and as long as I don't sell my work for money, I won't get a cease and desist letter from the copyright owner.
