Straight from Gearbox and 2K Games is "The Border Lands," a very neat 8-Bit Demake based on Borderlands that you can play in your browser. Like Borderlands, you choose to play as one of four unique characters, then kill scores of enemies for randomized loot. Here, however, you're doing battle in miniature arenas and the goal is to survive and kill every enemy so that you may move on to the next. Each character has his or her own pros and cons (such as faster/slower movement or more/less health) and the red weapon crates that drop from enemies contain random weapons that may (or may not) be better than the one you're currently using. There are multiple types of weapons, too, ranging from pistols to machine guns to flamethrowers and even acidic firearms!

Although it's very challenging and might not hold your attention for more than a few minutes, it's still worth giving a shot just to see how long you can survive and, hopefully, pick up some killer weapons with which to blast away scores of enemies. You can even show off your high score(s) if you so desire!
