This was my sixth and final play-through of The Callisto Protocol in the new Contagion Mode which I found the enemies were about the same as Hardcore however the drops were a lot better allowing me to upgrade weapons quicker which made it a little easier than Hardcore.

Contagion Mode also includes Permadeath which returns you back to the start of the current chapter if you die or exit the game. There is a trophy "You Belong Here" where you need to complete Contagion Mode without dying. You can backup your save file to the Cloud and USB however there is a little more involved as apparently your progress is also sent to developers cloud so any deaths are registered and defeats the purpose of restoring a save file. The way people are getting around this (including myself) is to do the following:

1. Backup ALL Callisto Save Files to the Cloud/USB
2. Disable the Internet
3. Complete a Chapter without dying
4. Enable the Internet
5. Backup ALL Callisto Save Files to the Cloud/USB

If you die...
1. Delete ALL your local Callisto Save Files
2. Enable the Internet
3. Restore ALL your Callisto Save Files from the Cloud/USB
4. Disable the Internet
5. Replay the Chapter without dying
