"The Chosen One" (Demon) by DarinLou {All Coins} | Geometry Dash 2.11
1,932This is a really nice themed art level by a rather unknown creator. DarinLou is definitely someone to look out for in the future. Edit: I actually uploaded a very good level by this creator 3 years ago called Space Cloud, but I forgot about it. Every part features great art and colors that matches the Chinese theme, whether it's nature, architecture, or the dragon at 0:51. This bossfight looks very good, and features a good variety of attacks. Visually, it's a very good level. However, like some people complained about in the comment section, the gameplay is a bit frustrating at times. The first Cube section and the one at 0:30 has so many sudden moving objects that makes them annoying. At 0:41, you have a very cool frame that fits the theme, but it closes in blocking much of your vision, which hurts the gameplay. With this in mind, I'd say this level doesn't quite deserve an Epic rating, but it definitely deserves a feature. I think it's difficult enough for an Easy Demon rating because of some frustrating parts gameplay-wise. It was requested for 9 stars.
- OVERALL COIN RATING -
Bronze. 1/4. The coins are all very easy. They're pretty much just free. Sure, they're a bit hidden, but there aren't any hints that make it good either. They need a lot of work to get a higher rating.
- 1st coin: Bronze. For the first coin, you have to use the green orb at 0:12 a bit late. The coin is invisible at the edge of the leaves. It's possible to get this by mistake without thinking about it. The coin is far too easy to get for an Easy Demon.
- 2nd coin: Bronze. At 0:35, you gotta let go of the dash orb a bit early and fall down. The coin is found here and bounces you up to the normal route. It requires no extra skill to get. Of course, you can say that it's difficult to find, but it's really not a good hidden coin when there's absolutely no clues or pointers to it being there. Are you saying just putting a free invisible coin above a platform should be rewarded? All you have to do is jump one extra time, but there's no way of figuring it out, and it's just a bad coin.
- 3rd coin: Bronze. This coin has a bit more to it, requiring you to get a key, but there's still no extra skill involved. The key is at 0:43, and is made pretty obvious by the exclamation mark. It's just two extra clicks to get. This opens up the cage at 1:09 that's holding the coin. I like how DarinLou handled this, but we can't forget that it's literally free in terms of skill. If the key was harder to get, this would be a fine Silver coin.
