On Friday the 20th of October, I finally saw KiwiRail's DXC 5212 - the first of four DXs to be upgraded with Electronic Fuel Injection. She was in charge of the iconic Tranz Alpine passenger train (with classmate 5229), and I also filmed some freight trains at the railway station and Annex Road in Middleton. Another noteworthy locomotive that I managed to see was DXC 5022; which was recently overhauled and rebuilt as a DXC at Hutt Workshops (having previously been a DXB).

I also went for a ride on the Christchurch Tramway, with the specific trams I rode on being Nos. 11 and 15 (originally from Dunedin and Invercargill respectively). After seeing the Tranz Alpine returning from Greymouth, I went back to see 'W2' class No. 411; the fancy restaurant tram.
