The Codex Seraphiniaus- the book you'll never be able to read!
First off- happy birthday to myself! Yeah! Getting old!
This book is one I'd long wanted to get and when I first started thinking about doing this channel, I thought to myself I'd finally pull the trigger if I was able to keep things going at least for a few months. I did, so I did!
The book is crazy. It reads like an encyclopedia of some fantastic imaginary world. That is if you could read it. You'll see real quick how hard that is...
It gives me flashbacks to my childhood and looking at books I was unable to comprehend at the time but would be absolutely enthralled by the pictures- Don Fabun's "The Dynamics of Change" being one of them, another being an old Time Life book called "The World We Live In."
It's a similar feeling here. On the cusp of figuring out what it all means, feeling like you're looking at something profound and meaningful, trying to create some rudimentary understanding of how it works... it's an interesting feeling to have return as an adult. It's neat to feel like a kid again even if I'm another year older.
This book is out of print currently (naturally), but the 40th anniversary is coming out in the fall, so keep an eye on places like Amazon. Here's a link to bookmark for it just in case!
