The Continue Codes in Double Dragon 2 (NES) - Retrogaming Easter Eggs
1,295Double Dragon II: The Revenge for the NES normally doesn't allow you to continue after a game over unless you use a SECRET CODE. But for some reason, Technos decided that the continue codes should be DIFFERENT depending on what level you reach.
So if you Game Over on Level 2 or 3, press UP, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, A, B on the Game Over screen and this will allow you to continue your game!
To continue from stage 4, 5, or 6, press UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A, A on the game over screen.
To continue from level 7, 8, or 9, tap A, A, B, B, DOWN, UP, RIGHT, LEFT on controller 2 during the game over screen.
Note that you can even change the player settings or difficulty after you continue.
Changing the difficulty may not work as intended, however, since the "difficulty" only changes the number of stages you can play. So for example if you use the continue code after reaching Level 6, then continue on Practice Mode (which ends after Level 3) you will continue from Level 3.
