So I got in on the Crew 2 Closed Beta and my friend Bluedragon did too, so I played a bit with him online. We didn't really do anything but i still had a tonne of fun despite my original concerns. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it, and while I thought the opening sequence with the inception land-folding was super cool, the actual gameplay seemed a bit flat.

but yes - it's a beta - and betas are expected to be less than perfect.

my takeaway from playing the game for the past couple of hours :

the folks who explain what you're going to do take too long - it gets boring after a while . Maybe this is just placeholder voiceovers but right now it's a bit yawn city.

the transitions - despite what my friend Ray says - are fun - driving down a street in Los Angeles in your MX3 then with a click of the right thumbstick you can turn into a plane and take off into the sky, find some water, fly over it and with another click transform into a boat and got for a cruise on a river....it's pretty freaking cool.

the physics are a bit weird with the cars - i found them a bit too bumper-car-ish, and there was no weight in the collissions. And - when you fly your plane into the ground, as far as I'm concerned, there needs to be a big explosion, not a fancy graphic. Crashing should have more spectacular consequences (Sorry, I've been playing a lot of Wreckfest lately).

Overall, this is fun - I will pick up the final copy and I will likely have a lot of fun playing it. Will I finish it? I have no idea - but that depends on how well it draws me in and keeps me interested.

These are my system specs - I couldn't maintain 60fps on HIGH in online multiplayer while streaming. Offline I had no issues.

Memory: 8 GB RAM (7.95 GB RAM usable)
