The dumbest match of Super Mariomon I will ever have played
4I would say "the dumbest match I've played", but I've only played like 7 matches.
Anyway, Super Mariomon is an awesome Pokemon Emerald ROM hack made by Alpharad's team Too Many Productions. You can watch Alpharad's video of it here ( • We created a Pokémon game: Super Mari... ), but basically, it features a whole new story taking place in the Mario universe (way beyond just the Mushroom Kingdom), with 151 creatures, known as Captures here, to collect. It's mostly your standard Pokemon game, but with a mix of both Pokemon and Mario & Luigi writing. I enjoyed this hack a lot, I've played most of it, only missing two quests that aren't in the current version, because this hack was only slated to release once Twitch Plays Pokemon beat it... which they did in two days, way faster than the devs expected.
Anyway, yapping a lot, go play this hack, because it's great.

Anyway, not long after the hack's release, a simulator for this hack was made on the play.pokeathlon.com fork of Pokemon Showdown, complete with a meta supported and greenlit by the team behind the hack. So we have actual tiers, and even bans to Uber. Do note that Capture 151 in the dex is like, super turbo spoiler territory, so maybe don't enter the teambuilder on Mariomon AG until you're sure you wanna see it.
This meta is garnering some popularity for sure. Between the fact that the hack was literally directed by a really big and popular content creator, and players like Jimothy Cool playing it on his channel, and Freezai hosting a tournament for it really soon.
Anyway, yesterday they also added Random Battles for this. I did a few and got into this... interesting battle... Y Parahax, if you're watching, thanks for being a good sport, while I normally don't enjoy battles this long, this was such a dumb match that I couldn't help but love it.
(I would not last 3 matches in old gens, I'll tell you that much...)
