What are the effects of genocides on the people that are left behind? I once heard a quote that the worst part about someone dying isn’t the death itself but the loss that’s felt by everyone around that person and in the case of genocides there isn’t just a loss of a loved one but a loss of humanity. I don’t talk about these kinds of dark themes on my channel much but with an invasion of Rafah seeming almost certain at this point with tanks already spotted on the outskirts of a city full of women and children I wanted to talk about what genocides do to the people committing them. First you lose all legitimacy. What moral legitimacy does the UN or the ICJ or the U.S have now on the international stage it doesn’t. The US government was already hated for its crimes against the Iraqis, Afghans, and Syrians but all of those could at least be somewhat called a war. Now everyone knows there is no war in Palestine, there is just a massacre. The UN and the ICJ are a joke now cuz even with all their so called power they never actually took any action against israel even tho it’s quite clear this is a genocide. But the worst of it is going to be the Palestinians themselves, the ones that will have to live with the pain of loss.
