I know I can just easily wait or rest to make time pass. But I feel those are shortcuts that kinda ruin the experience, for me anyway. Let's say for example: you were to fast travel to every point you've been to. Your athletics would be low as a result, yes you have to find the place first but then you can just fast-travel back, thus missing out on the experience. The same thing applies to missing out on combat, or spells.
This can be resolved by training but Oblivion made it worse by just allowing the player to only train 5 times per level. Unlike Morrowind where you could train 10 times. Morrowind is better paced for the user while Oblivion feels slower as a result. It doesn't help that I make it slow too. Sorry...
