The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Cinematic Playthrough Part Two
Legends have spanned for ages of dragons and the world-eater, Alduin, and their time for vengeance is at hand! Become the Dovah-Kiin, Dragonborn, and put an end to the dragon plague that's burning Tamriel for good!
Fefnir's note: This playthrough is the 100th full game to be posted on the channel! I chose Skyrim for this as it's one of my favorite games of all time and I really wanted to give it its due. To that end, this playthrough is very long; it contains the main questline, the College of Winterhold questline, the Dawnguard questline and the Dragonborn questline. There is also no fast-traveling, so there will be some long stretches of just trekking across the land and taking in the sights! That said, I understand this is not for everyone, but I enjoyed immersing myself this way.

Review: 5/5
Skyrim was my first foray into the Elder Scrolls series, and it immediately made me a fan. I love the fantasy setting, I love the huge amount of skill trees and perks to build around, I love all the different gear and magic available to use- it's really just an incredible RPG that can play differently every time you boot it up.
The score of this game is fantastic; every time I pick it up and hear the Dragonborn theme on the main menu, I'm drawn in all over again. This sentiment extends to the dynamic music changes as different events play out in the overworld too, ranging from a random bandit whose ire I've drawn to a feisty dragon zooming in to get clapped. I really enjoy the fact that I can basically hear what's happening before I'm able to visually take it in.
The combat, while one of the lower points of the game, is still far from poor. There's not a lot of depth to the melee combat; you're typically just trading beat-sticks and stepping back or blocking to mitigate damage, whereas the enemy will just walk towards you in a straight line. That said, I do think there's plenty of room to spice it up for yourself with the inclusion of off-handing a spell, managing your shouts and powers in combat, or using bows/crossbows as a support for a companion. I could make the argument that this generic style of combat was necessary in order to include all of these different gameplay styles, but Dark Souls has just as many options and combat is its shining feature.
The amount of content is staggering as well. I truly think I could do multiple separate playthroughs that take dozens of hours apiece and not repeat a quest, (other than the intro and probably the quests to unlock Unrelenting Force because that's the most OP ♥♥♥♥ in the game and I love it). There's plenty of factions that have their own questlines, there's a civil war you can choose to get involved in, there's the destiny of the Dragonborn to uncover, cities to champion- there's just no end to what you can do in the land of Skyrim, and I think it's great that all of these are options.
Obviously Skyrim is a good game; it's been released like five separate times over three console generations in the last ten years. It also goes on sale all the time- you could pick up the base game + DLC for super cheap and already have a couple hundred hours of content to go through if you wanted to peruse it all, or you could dive into the modding scene and add a ton of stuff to the game: weapons, quests, armors, better graphics and textures, all of that. There's also weird sex stuff if you're a degenerate, but no judgement. Actually strike that, if you're gonna download that stuff, big judgement, go outside instead.
