Hey guys, Altered State here. Welcome back to another episode of The Evil Within 2. In this episode we start out fighting another boss type enemy like the guardian. It is a two headed monstrosity that wraps itself around a telephone pole, which it uses to try and smash us and shock us. We pump a lot of ammo into it but eventually take it down. We confront Myra again, but she throws a fit and claims she has to protect Lily, destroying the world around us further. We find ourselves in an ashy wasteland once the chaos has died down, with our house off on a distant hill. We walk through the wasteland and pick up a few resonance points along the way, that help unravel the story a bit further. We know that Myra was trying to protect Lily from Kidman and Father Theodore, but things did not go well. Myra attempts to sacrifice herself to become the core, but Theodore is onto her and knows she was planning to destroy STEM from within. We come across our room, which we decide to loot and save for a final time, before facing the final boss, Myra. We find her standing outside our house, shifting between herself, and the nightmare version of herself. She shows us she is still in there, but corrupted on the inside. When we try to talk sense into her, and tell her we can save Lily, she becomes angry and morphs into a giant monstrosity in which we have to fight. What follows next is an epic boss fight that is reminiscent of something out of Dead Space, with glowing weak spots and limbs that fall off when enough damage has been dealt. The first two attempts do not go so well, as when we shoot off the arms, one grabs us and we have to shoot the severed portion. The first time this happens, we fail at shooting the appropriate spot, but the second time is the game's fault when our gun disappears in our hand and we blindly shoot invisible bullets with no means of aiming. On our third attempt we are victorious though, and proceed to watch an emotional cut scene play out as we pull Myra from the gooey aftermath, then head towards the house to rescue Lily. We make it back to the house, and just when we think it's going to be over, we are put into Kidman's shoes on the outside of STEM. We are introduced to a new character, presumably the leader of Mobius, and Kidman's boss. Kidman reveals that she has been a friend all along, and now that her and Myra's plan of destroying STEM is almost complete, she shows her defiance and shoots the men in the room. We then find ourselves playing as Kidman, under fire, but decide to end the episode here and will pick up in this fire fight next time.
