Linux Gaming | The Finals | Proton Experimental

The only 2 changes done for stability for 2 other players and myself in Ubuntu were changing the DLAA to TAAU and the sysctl mentioned here:

sudo nano /etc/sysctl.conf

At the end of the sysctl.conf add the following:

kernel.dmesg_restrict=0
fs.file-max = 67108864
fs.nr_open = 20132659
vm.max_map_count = 2147483640

This is based on computers with either 64GB or 128GB of RAM, so if you have less, simply divide that based on your RAM.

The MAIN parameter is vm.max_map_count for my system it was set at 2097152 but older Ubuntu versions or older distros have it set to 65530 which is very low for many games that require much more. Games like The FInals benefit from having 2097152 or more. Use commands like free, top, and vmstat to adjust this better and monitor them.
