The Forgotten City Makes You Feel Clever | My Fav Thing In... (The Forgotten City Review)
The Forgotten City began life as a Skyrim mod almost 10 years ago, but now it's very much its own thing. As you can hear in this conversation, over top of some The Forgotten City gameplay, this mystery detective game makes you feel clever. Often, it does that by just staying out of the way. The excellent Alice Bell has been living the same loop over and over the past few days, getting her The Forgotten City review ready, so Colm asked her on to chat about the very best thing in The Forgotten City.

If you played The Forgotten City Skyrim mod you might be familiar with the building blocks. You've somehow ended up in an ancient Roman city with a time loop. Your main job is to figure out who's going to commit a sin and break The Golden Rule. Do that, and then the time loop ends. As you can hear in this The Forgotten City PC review, you get to the bottom of things by chatting to members of the community, snooping around, all that kind of stuff.
As you can hear Alice tell Colm during this The Forgotten City gameplay, developer Modern Storyteller have crafted a game that doesn't get in the way or nudge you too much over your investigation. It allows you to figure out the majority of the mystery yourself. It's a plus that the writing is compelling enough to push you to get all four endings, and it's not bad to look at either... but you've already gathered that by having a watch of this The Forgotten City PC gameplay.
If you've enjoyed this The Forgotten City gameplay and our The Forgotten City PC review chat (everything said here applies to The Forgotten City Xbox, The Forgotten City PS5 and The Forgotten City Switch, too, in case you were wondering), then why not have a read of Alice’s full thoughts in her written The Forgotten City review on RockPaperShotgun.com (https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-forgotten-city-review)
My Favourite Thing In... is a video series where Colm chats to one of the lovely RPS writers about their absolute favourite thing in a spang new video game they’ve been playing. In some cases, the writer will have to think long and hard about their choice, because the game they’ve been playing mightn’t be that great, while better games will have multiple things for them to pick.
