Day 18

The octorok ate the Water Element and it was HARD to take down! It must've been some kind of magic, ancient octorok since it had flowers growing on it and it could make the room dark by spitting out smoke. It also had the power to freeze itself and shoot ice!
I COULDN'T EVEN HURT IT! Ezlo didn't know what to do either. I figured out how to hurt it by deflecting one of its rocks back at it with my sword. Then, it froze itself and I couldn't DO ANYTHING! That is, until Ezlo pointed out that the plants on the octorok had dried out. I lit it on fire with the lantern and the ocotrok was freaking out.
A few more rocks to the face took it out for good. The Water Element descended into my hands (clean, thankfully). It felt like I was putting my hand through a stream, just feeling the water rush through my fingertips. It was pleasant.
Ezlo returned me back to my normal size and it was SO MUCH WARMER when we got out of there! Even though night had fallen, it was better than being inside that icy temple.
Right as we got out of the temple though...a ghost appeared. It...it looked like King Daltus. Thankfully, it wasn't. The ghost said his name was Gustaf. He must've been Zelda's ancestor. King Gustaf said that we had to meet him in Royal Valley. Then he was gone when I blinked.
Ezlo saw him too. I asked him about King Gustaf and he said that he didn't know anything about him, but we should go to Royal Valley after infusing the Water Element into the sword.
This morning, we went to the castle. THE CASTLE WAS CRAWLING WITH GUARDS! I asked Bren why him and the other guards were guarding the castle. He said that King Daltus ordered that no one enter the castle under any circumstances at the same time he sent a search party out for the Light Force.
I got scared. This wasn't normal for King Daltus unless there was an emergency. Bren doesn't know what happened, but he asked me if I still remembered the secret passage Zelda and I used to play in when we were younger. He told me to be careful and he won't tell anyone about our conversation.
I thanked him and made it to the Elemental Sanctuary through that secret passage (I had to sneak by a few guards though). Ezlo was wondering why I wasn't knocking them out and I told him it was because they were my friends and they were just doing their job. I knew all the guards of the castle. They were always nice to me.
I put the Water Element on one of the pillars, leaving one empty. I put the sword in the pedestal and beams of light shot out from all of the elements and pointed toward my sword. A flash of light shone and the hilt changed from red to blue. The blade also turned whiter and more reflective.
I drew the sword and it felt more powerful. The door to the sanctuary was closed again, but when I split into copies to press down the switches, I SPLIT INTO ANOTHER COPY! THERE WERE TWO COPIES OF ME!
As fascinating as it was, we had to get to Royal Valley, but there was something bothering me. I snuck out of the castle and called Zeffa to take me out of the castle quickly. I went to the library in town and looked up books on King Gustaf. There was a lot of stuff about him being a great ruler, but then Ezlo found a passage that said he was good friends with the people of the Wind Tribe. Maybe...maybe he knew what we were doing and was trying to help us find the Wind Element!
Ezlo believes it's worth a shot to check Royal Valley since we don't have any other clues about the Wind Element. According to my map, Royal Valley's entrance was near the castle. I had to go through a damp, dark passage and when I came out of the tunnel, the world had gone dark. I pulled out my lantern. I refused to be scared of this ghost-infested place.
Ezlo claimed he wasn't scared, but I could feel him quivering. The place was difficult to navigate, but I eventually found a house. It was the home of the gravekeeper, Dampe. I told him that we had to get into the graveyard and he said he'd let us in.
BUT WE LOST THE KEY TO A TAKKURI! Thankfully, the stupid bird wasn't hard to catch off-guard and I got the key back. Ezlo told me to keep a tighter grip on it. Dampe opened up the gate for us.
I've only been to this graveyard once. It was...a very long time ago, but I remember it clearly. Grandpa was with me then. I looked at the two familiar graves on the far side of the graveyard, then turned away. I didn't want Ezlo to see me cry.
