In the first half of the decade challenge fads were all the rage on YouTube. It had become the new wave for YouTubers to make content which involved subjective
themselves to some sort of challenge (torture) for video views. The challenges were fun for a bit, but it became obnoxious as time went on as they became pretty much inescapable. In 2013, a trend would begin in February that would rise to the top that ultimately had become the biggest challenge fad in internet history without even setting out to do so, that trend was the Harlem Shake.
